Recently, I co-led a two-day leadership training for C-level folks, and despite the fact that the session had nothing to do with politics, one comment was spoken repeatedly: We are in desperate need of strong, clear and believable leadership in America. That, though, isn’t the really interesting point.
Our training focused on leadership and what it takes to generate great performance in the businesses of the attendees. What we found is that their businesses are in need of – guess what? – strong, clear and believable leadership. And these folks were attending that leadership workshop to learn how to deliver just that.
The cry for leadership is everywhere. We have a short supply of accountability, clarity and focus on the needs of those who look to us for leadership. That means that the leadership opportunity door is wide open. Are you ready to step through it?
