It’s Always a Choice

Reading time: 21 seconds

A colleague passed along this YouTube link to me – the second time someone has urged me to have a look at this video – and it’s worthy of your consideration, especially if you despair over teens and 20-somethings.  Indeed, a common lament among leaders is about the millennials who show up at their door applying for a job.  This video is a wonderful reminder of the power each of us has, if we’ll only be conscious.

In my Fully Alive Leadership© workshops I talk about this metaphorically in this way:

“In the Game of Life, at times, each of us is in the stands watching the game.  This is an invitation to be on the field of play for the entire game.  It’s where your greatest leadership is to be found and, indeed, that’s where your entire life is happening, regardless of whether you’re present for it.”

It’s where great leaders show up – every time, no exceptions – and it’s where they create great, engaged followers.

So, like the guy in the commercial says, “It’s your life.  Be there.”
